Madtown Yarn Shop Hop - October 8-11, 2026
The Madtown Yarn Shop Hop is an annual event spanning four days that started in 2017 as a way to celebrate our local fiber communities and support small, locally-owned businesses in our surrounding area.
Pick up your passport and first stamp at Lodi Alpacas Uptown, then visit Flaxen Fleece in Sauk City for a stamp. You will receive an exclusive shop hop button just for visiting these two shops, as well as being entered into a SEPARATE drawing and qualifying for other amenities. Then map out the rest of your weekend taking a free, self-guided tour of 12 more yarn shops, fiber farms and mills across south-central Wisconsin. Enjoy exclusive colorways, trunk shows, demos, mill tours and farm visits, complete with alpacas, llamas, and sheep. The more passport stamps you collect, the higher the shop hop prize values you will be eligible for.
EXCLUSIVE! Lodi Alpacas Uptown is also welcoming a special guest artisan, Karen Anderson, to the store during the shop hop. Karen is the owner/head designer for Kaleidoscope Fibers. She designs her own custom tools and accessories for knitters and crocheters using a CO2 laser to engrave and cut each item. A variety of her products will be available including stitch markers, shawl cuffs, tags, and tools, made of solid maple hardwood, leatherette and acrylic, etc. Custom orders are always welcome!
